The Browsers
There is a lot fuss about pages that don't work with this or that browser. And unfortunately
I have to admit that my page is one of those. Numerous visitors reported that my page does
not display correctly with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
I only test my pages with Netscape Navigator (my version is currently 4.5, but I try to keep track).
I have numerous reasons why I don't test my pages with a version of Microsoft Internet Explorer...
The most important are:
The Images
Nearly all the images on my pages were created by me in a way or another:
drawn, raytraced or scanned. I know it's common use to "borrow" pictures all over the web,
but I'm an honest man, so I didn't. If you like any picture on my page and decide to use
it... Feel free, and get it... but at least give me the credit I deserve
by including me in your link page or acknowlegements. The link images on my link page
were of course not created by me :-) they are meant to be used that way.
The navigation buttons were inspired on the buttons on my cellular phone (GSM):
I've actually put my cellular phone on our scanner, scanned it and destilled
the buttons from the resulting image.
Here's a list of the software I used while creating images for these pages:
The Music
Unlike the images I didn't create the midi files shown in the bottom frame.
I'm an absolute zero in music, sorry! Previously my pages played a midi in background,
but some visitors complained about that because they were doing something else with their
soundcard. So I decided to offer a choice to the potential visitors...
and that is why the bottom frame was added. The three shown songs were
downloaded at the Midi File Central which was discontinued because of lack of interest.
Those who knew my University pages will remember that they had a different song on each page.
I removed these songs because now I have to share 5 Megabyte with 4 other people....
so I had to dump something and it were the midi-files. :-(
I also considered using some tracked songs created by my friends, but neither XM, IT or S3M files
are supported by standard Browsers. WAV files are too huge, and
MP3 files are not supported either.
(A real shame, because MP3 is cool!) I know that RealAudio is around, but I have
no tools to convert to RA files, and I have no clue about their size.
Special Thanks to...
